| STUDIES IN PSYCHODYNAMIC
PSYCHOTHERAPY WITH CHILDREN AND ADOLESCENTS COURSE CONTENT The course of postgraduate study in psychodynamic psychotherapy with children and adolescents investigates the child's and the adolescent's functioning mind, as viewed from the perspectives of drive and ego psychology, object relations theory, and self psychology. It explores the development and mastery of the multiple tasks the growing child confronts and acquires from infancy through adolescence. This is coupled with the complexities of parenting during phases of development. The various elements of therapy and their application to treatment of pathological outcomes of development including: pervasive and atypical developmental disorders; eating, bowel and bladder disorders; impulse and activity disorders; gender identity disorders; anxiety disorders and thought disorders are considered. A major course component is through consideration of child/family case material as presented by seminar participants. The clinical seminars will approach the various phases of assessment and therapeutic interventions with children, adolescents, and their families. COURSE WORK AND COURSE GROUPINGS
